Bands / Babes / Booze / BBQ / Fire / Water

Well it's worked for the last few years...
So i think we have a format that keeps everyone happy,
We take one Punk band, one Metal band, one Alt? band and maybe one something else... add a few DJ's in there... some fire, food, and lots of booze and we're set!

well i'm not rich... bring your own!

BBQ:

We generally have 3 or 4 BBQ's on the go for anyone who wants to cook...
Mind you there is also a HUGE FIRE! it cooks things good too.
Bring your own food for the BBQ / Fire...
Also a cooler to keep said food from rotting... might be a good idea.

Fire:

As always there will be more than adequate fire going on in the evening...
Bring wood if you can or anything non toxic to burn...
Step mothers, ex girlfriends although maybe toxic are fire friendly.

Water:

I have a lake, more importantly a very CLEAN lake...
so bring what ever you need if you wanna go swimming or chill out on the lake.



Cover: 0$

There is none, never has been and i don't plan on there ever being one...
Donations are welcome... as i do pay for everything that goes into planing and putting on the party... (it ain't cheap)
If by some miracle donations actually covered the cost of this party...
All additional profits goes to the Bands...

INFO:

Rides are easy and not having one is not an excuse.
LOTS of people are doing multiple runs to and from Ottawa to pick up extra people... you need a ride? let us know!

The party IS more or less 4 days...

Friday July 30th: People generally show up so they can get a good spot for their tent... relax for the eve, listen to tunes, sit by the fire and drink.

Saturday July 31st: Bands and other entertainment is on the Saturday...
if you are coming for one evening only this is the night you wanna be there for...

Sunday August 1st: Pretty chill mostly involves swimming / BBQ / more fire / and recovering from a crazy hang over...
good for anyone who wants an extra day away from the city.

Monday August 2nd: If you are still at my house... GO HOME...
this is the day the hardcore people who still love me... stick around and help clean up...


For those of you who are staying multiple days...
There IS a near by grocery store... they sell BOOZE / SMOKES (and food)

Thanks to Devo, we will be serving coffee Saturday and Sunday morning for those who are too hungover to make their own. Coffee will be on a donation basis to help pay for the cost of the coffee first off... then the party and bands!

Preparations are going well.

GIRL WRESTLING!

The main night of the Party (Saturday August 1st) will be starting off around 3 or 4 PM with the Sin Sisters wrestling in...
well lets just say it'll be interesting...

BETS WILL BE TAKEN for the winners so bring you wallets! :)

i mean come on who doesn't want to place bets on pretty girls wrestling in strange gooey stuff!

there are 5 girls... each match will have 3 rounds.
to win they must get the other girls top off by any means necessary and pin the other girl down for a count of three.
if after the third round no one has won, you the audience will vote for the winner!

Bets will be placed for each match.

We may also auction off the chance for an audience member to challenge the winner!
( now if that isn't a reason to bring money i don't know what is )
( graham... wipe that grin off your face )


ART and STUFF!

Well it looks like some of the girls and their friends (and anyone else interested in doing so) will be bringing up some of their art to sell...
I've head tell there will be anything from zombie paintings to crazy sculptures.

for anyone interested in this, please feel free to bring you art.
all art will be displayed during the day between the hours of 1 PM and 6 PM for the duration of the event.

all items if desired can be locked up after that as to not get damaged once partying commences.


NOTES:

The main party night is Saturday.
all other nights are much more relaxed.

Again i reiterate that there is NO COVER for this event.
but donations are welcome to help cover the costs of throwing the event.

T-Sirts will be sold for 15$ (i think) and are in very limited supply.
most of which have already been claimed.

The general outline is the same as previous years...

Friday July 31st: Come set up your tents, sit by a fire, drink and chill out.

Saturday August 1st: Bands, Big Fire, Madness.

Sunday August 2nd: Hangover day... BBQ... Hangover beer... most people go home...

Monday August 3rd: Cleanup day... weee... (as you may guess not a lot of people stick around for that day)

So basically... if you're coming for one night make it Saturday... that's when all the partying goes down...

the other days are mostly for those of you who just wanna get out of the city for a day or two or four...

So i think i have about 3 or 4 working BBQs...
So we'll be eating BBQ all weekend! weeee!
Keeping them full of Propane on the other hand... we'll work on that.

I have a lake in the back yard that was tested this past summer and declared one the cleanest lakes in the region...
so... bring your swimming trunks and sun screen...
a screw it just bring sun screen!
and yes... there is a paddle boat! stop asking! and it's a new one!
(for those of you who remember and love the old yellow one that leaked and slowly sunk... I'm sorry... that one died)

Well Partying is always more fun when there are more reasons to party...

ok so...
sequels are never as good as the original...

but here it is... it's another flower,
a stem of barbed wire and melted plastic.
the leaves and petals are of flame molded clear vinyl sheeting.
the flowers center is made up of two short prongs twisted around each other held together in layer after layer of my hardened blood.
as on the previous flower all black coloring and texture on the stem is from either melted plastic or from over heating the metal.

materials: made of melted plastic, barbed wire, wiring and my blood

cost to build: free... all spare parts... blood costs nothing

time to build: thirteen hours over the span of three weeks

what the inspration was and what does it represent?

this flower is something i never thought i'd make.
i couldn't figure out what the drive behind it was.
it seemed so tame in compared to my other work...
all the petals are so uniform.
all tightly pressed one to the next.
surrounding the center, a hollow, empty space...
a place of solitude or a wall put in place to hide?
i don't know...

dead center like an immortalized couple dancing in solitude,
two sole metal prongs forever entwined.
swimming in blood, so fluid and full of life
now slowly hardening with every moment passed.
the undivided couple cased in blood like statues made of me,
an endless moment in time when two were one and away from distraction.
i could stay there forever...

sometimes you feel all is lost...
but you hope... you try... you lose... you hurt...

but is it worth trying again?
ask me 6 months ago... i'd have said no.

in thirteen years...

i've bought two pairs of pants...
i've bought two ties...
i've quit university twice...
i've loved two women...
i've had the exact same haircut...

not much has changed...
it's about time i fix that...

in the last month...
i bought a pair pants...
i bought a tie...
became an accredited bartender...
decided women are more trouble than they are worth...
and yes... got a hair cut...

i fear hair dressers like most people fear the dentist...
so when the clipper came near... i kinda just froze and hoped for the best.
the blue mohawk is working out better than i anticipated...

but at least it's new... sometimes change is just necessary...

so you know how i always say something bad happens at or on my b-day...

well this year my grandmother died...
and i mean such is life...
she was old... barely kept alive by drugs and under 24/7 supervision for the last 2 years to make sure she didn't die because the longer they kept her alive... the more money they could squeeze out of her.

now she is at peace and i am happy for her.

i'm going to her funeral on friday then after the funeral i'm going to my b-day party at sara's place...

so yeah bad things happen...
and i've come to expect it...
and i figured i got off easy this year...

just over an hour before my actual b-day...
i walk out of class... to find out my car was stolen!

did i mention i hate my b-day?
(still... better than last years b-day)

so it's x-mas...
it's 2:32 am... sunday night... monday morning, you choose.

i just got home...
guess people will soon wake up and open their gifts...
me?
well... i just got home?... er, home... other home...
left my home to go home... make sense?

decided x-mas feels empty for me...
wish it weren't the case...
those i love... are gone... left me... by death or by choice one year ago.

sure i still have my family...
then again i did just leave all my family behind to get away, come here, type this.

why?

do i even know? not a chance... not a clue...
